Our Roots

A longhouse is a traditional residential dwelling built by Indigenous peoples across North America that served as the communal dwelling for several generations of an extended family.

Longhouse's name and logo were Inspired by the longhouses used by the Huron-Wendat people. Our crest depicts a longhouse providing shelter for all things below. Underneath the longhouse is the great turtle head representing family ties and the turtle island story. Within it is an individual prosperously raising their hands to the creator. All of these aspects are carried by the wings of the sacred eagle, which represents love and security.

Like the story our crest represents, our mission to bring people together to make a positive impact on the community and continue support generations to come by enhancing First Nations access to capital.

Our team at Longhouse brings the unique experience and understanding of the Indigenous communities together with extensive capital markets expertise.
